Wander Alone (2025) - Short Documentary - Director + Editor

Winner of the Best New Vision award at the 48th International Wildlife Film Festival, Wander Alone is Forthcoming documentary about the last two living Northern White Rhinos. The film explores the politics, psychology and biology of individual and collective loneliness, offering a novel perspective on the the looming spectre of mass extinction.



Mirelight (2024) - Short Film - Director, Editor + Director of Photography

Mirelight is an environmental allegory set amid the vast carbon sinks of Estonia’s Soomaa Bog.
The film blends natural history, science-fiction and folklore into a cyclical story of extraction, assimilation and evolution, breaching the illusory boundaries between the human and “natural” world. The film was partially funded with a grant from the Goethe Institut and was on display at the Estonian National Museum in September 2024.

 



Sanctum Sanctorum (2024) - Video Installation - Director + Director of Photography

A companion piece to the film ‘Mirelight’ which reconstructs the film across three large LED panels, reorienting the narrative into a swirling abstraction of nature documentation and arcane symbolism. This work was on display in the main foyer of the Estonian National Musem during UNDA festival 2024.





Egolane (2024) - Short Film - Director of Photography

Egolane is a short film and video installation directed by Juliet Carpenter. The film was nominated for the 2024 Walters Prize, New Zealand’s most prestigious art award. It is currently on display at the Auckland Art Gallery.





Gleo_01 (2024) - Short Film - Director, Editor + Director of Photography

A visual accompaniment to a series of live performances by saxaphone and synth duo Gleo. Using macro lenses to capture strange unions of organic and synthetic matter, the film transforms tiny worlds into kinetic Rorschach tests, documenting and dramatising the hidden consequences of our everyday material and chemical footprints. 




Oceanic Feeling (2022) - VR Documentary - Director, Editor + Director of Photography

Oceanic Feeling is a VR 360° exploration of the curious historical connections between the critically endangered European Eel, 20th century psychoanalysis, and our pathological relationship with the more-than-human world. This project was selected for development during CPH:LAB 2022 and screened internationally, including during the Venice Bienale 2022.






Skyjuice (2018) Short Documentary - Director, Editor + Director of Photography 
Skyjuice tells the story of St Lucia-born, London-raised Joseph “Juicy” Nicholas. Amid the rapid change of one of London’s liveliest boroughs, he’s an unlikely social hub — offering shaved ice steeped in tradition and conversation.





Lost & Found (2013) Short Documentary - Director, Editor + Director of Photography

Lost & Found invites viewers on a journey to the sparesely populated and densely forested near-wilderness of New Zealand’s deep south, to visit the wondrous realm of artist, inventor and self-confessed tinkerer Blair Somerville.




A Delicate Canvas (2011) Short Documentary - Director, Editor + Director of Photography

For nearly twenty years, Martin Hill has fashioned art from the mountains, valleys, rivers, and lakes of New Zealand’s South Island. Using materials found on site, he builds fleeting sculptures that endure only in photographic form. In 2011, Hill set about creating a series of works to be exhibited the following spring at his first-ever solo exhibition. Spanning four seasons, Delicate Canvas recounts his journey, his work, and his fragile medium.
